Title:                     HR Recruiting and On-boarding Coordinator

Position:              Full-time Hourly/Non-Exempt

Reports to:         Director of Crew Management and HR

Division:              Gulf Inland

Location:             Harahan, LA

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement vessel and shore-based recruiting initiatives and manage the complete recruiting cycle from sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Maintain and communicate metrics with Leadership Team.
  • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active candidate recruiting.
  • Effectively advertise and source openings utilizing various sources such as on-line, newspapers professional organizations, and in other appropriate venues.
  • Identify sources of applicants and follows standard methods to access qualified applicants.
  • Coordinate reference checks and initiates background investigations and license verification as necessary.
  • Advise hiring manager of applicant’s eligibility.
  • Assist in development, implementation as well as maintaining human resources policy and procedures.
  • Partner with staffing and business lines to help manager’s recruits, interview, and assist with the selection of employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plan and facilitate employee on-boarding orientation.
  • Conduct training facets of on-boarding and other. 
  • Maintain files, forms and database information associated with recruiting.
  • Participate in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years minimum recruiting experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of recruiting processes, procedures and systems.
  • Two (2) years of training and facilitation experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail).
  • Excellence in creating, maintaining and communicating metrics.
  • Innovative, goal-driven and organized.
  • Basic HR generalist experience.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state laws governing equal employment opportunity.
  • Experience filling high volume requisitions.
