Title:                      OPS Support Coordinator

Position:              Full-time Hourly/Non-Exempt

Reports to:         SVP Operations (works closely with VP Vessel Ops, Director of Training and Director of Crewing)

Division:              River

Location:             Paducah, KY

 

General:

Supports all Operations Programs by tracking, measuring, and analyzing performance across River Ops Platform. Provide periodic reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) for same.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage Wheelhouse and Engineering qualification processes and entry of credentials into MCFO.
  • Manage, expand, and improve the VMT/Port Captain Measurement dashboard.
  • Track and audit all Ops training programs (DOG visits, ROD visits, E-learning, huddles, drills, etc.) and brief appropriate managers of discrepancies.
  • Ensure VMTs are aware of crew scheduling, qualification, and credential deficiencies as follows:
    • Wheelhouse:  proper ID, qualified, certified, licensed and posted for the intended voyage, vessel characteristics, and tow size/configuration;
    • Chief Engineer:  proper ID, qualified, certified (PIC and FOT) and experienced for the vessel type, propulsion, steering, auxiliary, and fuel/water storage and transfer systems;
    • Deck Crew/Cook complement, proper ID, qualified and experienced (e.g. Mate/LM/DH); and
    • time onboard vessel, CEMS factors, upcoming rotations/reliefs.
  • Track SVP Ops directives and notify progress in implementation.
  • Track the budget for the Posting and Engineer Training programs; measure progress and cost per river segment of qualification.  Liaise with VP Vessel Ops, Director of Crewing, and Director of Training in capturing qualifications and training information.
  • Coordinate and track Wheelhouse orientation training for new Wheelmen.
  • Track and report on Marquette Designated Examiners.
  • Assist Crew Managers as needed.
    • Cover Crew Managers’ time off (i.e., vacation).
    • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Ensure River Condition Summary and Internal WAPs are up-to-date and uploaded to Rosepoint.
  • Assist Crewing with monitoring status of EMQ onboarding & offboarding processes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong customer service, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel, including vessel visits.
  • Must be a reliable detail-oriented team player and self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) are required.
