Position Summary:
The Analytics Intern will work closely with business analysts to mine, transform, visualize, and present data that will empower decision-making across the company. Researching new technologies and ideas will ensure the analytics team has the tools to remain highly efficient. The role provides exposure to financial and operational data analysis, database management, data modeling, SQL, and Python. The intern will balance recurring reporting and ad hoc reports that vary in scope as well as one or more ‘capstone’ projects (more sizeable projects to employ skills learned throughout the internship).

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Be an energetic member of the Analytics team, performing duties including:
  • Geospatial analytics
  • Data visualization
  • Business intelligence
  • Data workflow optimization
  • Machine learning model developments
  • Specific projects will be identified near the beginning of the summer term
  • Software employed will involve PowerBI (Microsoft), various SQL editors, database systems, Excel, and a machine learning library (Python, R, and/or Azure)
 
Qualifications:
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a Data Science related field
  • Interest and desire to develop mastery of Excel, SQL, Python, and statistics
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
 
This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite at the corporate headquarters in Paducah, KY.
