Title:                    Claims Coordinator
Position:             Full-time Hourly/Non-Exempt
Reports to:         Claims Manager
Division:              Gulf Inland
Location:             Harahan, LA
 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with injured workers, medical providers and third parties, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate medical visits, bill review, surveys, and related claims’ documentation.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of status reports and policyholder claim reviews. 
  • Prepare claims and insurance related reports for submission/processing.
  • Organize and work with detailed records using IT systems to enter, search and retrieve data.
  • Document, review, update, and scan claim related documents and information.
  • Process medical and/or property damage bills.
  • Provide customer service and assist Claims Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience handling claims.
  • General knowledge of the Jones Act preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good time management, organizational and negotiation skills a must.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong skills in database management and recordkeeping required.
