Title:                    Recruiting & Onboarding Coordinator

Position:             Full-time/Hourly Non-Exempt

Reports to:        Director of Human Resources

Division:             River

Location:            Paducah, KY


Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement vessel recruiting initiatives and manage the complete recruiting cycle from sourcing, screening, interviewing, and managing/tracking the qualifications process (i.e., physical results).
  • Track and communicate recruiting metrics to Management Team.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with Managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and make changes as needed.
  • Research and recommend new sources and geographic locations for active candidate sourcing/recruiting.
  • Effectively advertise and source openings utilizing various sources (i.e., online ads, newspapers, professional organizations, billboards, radio, job fairs, flyers, etc.).
  • Initiate background check process.
  • Pre-enrollment for TWIC cards for applicable new hires.
  • Advise hiring managers of applicant’s eligibility and related status.
  • Schedule and facilitate vessel new hire orientation training classes.
  • Company and HR policy and procedure presentation in vessel new hire orientation class.
  • Attend job/career fairs.
  • Assist with unemployment claims, special projects, company events, and additional duties as needed.



  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years minimum recruiting and training and facilitation experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of recruiting processes, procedures and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills required, both oral and written.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be self-starter, team player, innovative, goal-driven, and organized.
  • Travel 10-20%.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws governing equal employment opportunity.
  • Experience filling high volume requisitions in a fast-paced environment.
