About Offshore Division:
Marquette's Offshore Division, established in 2007, is dedicated to providing U.S.-flagged tugboat services to meet customer project needs across the Gulf of Mexico, Eastern Seaboard, and Caribbean. Alongside our fleet of tugboats, we offer comprehensive, one-stop solutions specializing in project cargo and dredge support work. We utilize strict safety protocols, detailed planning, and a robust maintenance program to execute our operations. Our fleet consists of nine tugboats ranging from 1,800 to 3,000 BHP (brake horsepower). Despite being a smaller division, Marquette strives to provide a strong, supportive culture that extends through our offices and onboard our vessels. Marquette is truly powered by its people, both on the vessels and shoreside.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for routine deck operations aboard the vessel.
  • Building and checking tow on the hip.
  • Catching lines on deck fittings, casting lines free when getting underway, and assisting in the navigation of the boat from the deck.
  • Preparing and setting up the proper equipment for towing astern.
  • Responsible for anchor handling.
  • Carry rigging (ratchets, wires and straps) pumps, hoses, lines, and other equipment weighing 75-100 lbs.
  • Working outdoors for extended periods of time, and in weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Daily vessel housekeeping and vessel maintenance such as sweeping, mopping, painting, and equipment repair.
  • Maintain vessel appearance to include washing, cleaning, chipping and painting the vessel.
  • Assist with the stocking and delivery of various supplies to and from the vessel.
  • Periodic cleaning tasks including trash removal, mopping, scraping, sanding and painting.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to be away for periods of time as schedules are generally 28 days away and 14 days home.
  • Physical labor experience working in the outdoors is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be 18 or older to board a vessel.
  • Must be able to meet all physical qualifications per company guidelines.
  • Must have Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be able to attain it.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
  • Must be able to handle and lift rigging (up to 75 lbs-100lbs).
