Title:                    Claims Coordinator
Position:             Full-time Hourly/Non-Exempt
Reports to:         Claims & Risk Manager
Division:              Gulf-Inland
Location:             St. Rose, LA
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Claims & Risk Manager to manage claim files, coordinate treatment with employees, assist with invoice processing, and work with insurance broker on claim submissions.
  • Communicate with injured workers, medical providers, other departments, customers and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide assistance in preparation of status reports and policyholder claim reviews. 
  • Prepare claims and insurance related reports for submission/processing.
  • Organize and work with detailed records using IT systems to enter, search and retrieve data.
  • Document, review, update, and scan claim related documents and information.
  • Process medical and/or property damage bills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
  • Prior experience handling claims preferred.
  • General knowledge of the Jones Act preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good time management and organizational skills a must.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong skills in database management and recordkeeping required.
